A factory in a cave! Situated behind an old mine, this mill was in use until the end of the 19th century.
Visitors can plunge into an underground world to discover an ingenious use of hydraulic energy. The water had previously forced its way through the mass of limestone that blocked its path. Gradually, generations of millers hewed away the rock and dug wells and aqueducts so as to build, perfect and operate an impressive system of hydraulic wheels and mills. The story of these enterprising men is told and their experiences reconstructed on this site.
