Thomas Lüthi

Thomas Lüthi (born 6th September 1986) has made his name as a major talent in motorcycling. In 2005 in only his third season as a professional, he became world champion in the 125 cc category.

Lüthi is the first Swiss world champion in the sport for 20 years, when Stefan Dörflinger last won the title in the 80 cc category. There had been no Swiss champion in the 125 cc category since Luigi Taveri in 1966.

In recognition of his achievement, the Swiss public voted Lüthi Swiss Male Athlete of the Year for 2005.
